Lac léman
Vaud, CH

Garden for a contemporary residence on the shores of lake Geneva. The design integrates the building into its sloping site, weaving new and old walls into the fabric of the surrounding vineyard terraces. Responding to the crisp lines of the building, a combination of architectural structure planting and fluid bands of aromatics develop a sculptural narrative. A serpentine barrier and a system of sinuous gravel paths flow around the property gently linking the building and its garden spaces.

In response to the varying micro-climates of the site, plantings range from mediterranean through to shaded woodland glade. Native tree and shrub plantings dissimulate the boundaries of the site and create important wildlife corridors between the properties and the lake edge.
