Hortus mentis
Vaud, CH
Expanding on the polemical distinction between ‘weed and flower’, Hortus mentis ‘garden of the mind’ explores the boundaries of what we perceive as a garden and what we perceive as a wild place. The Persian rug in the mossy forest-clearing identifies such a magical place. As a signifier of a garden paradise, the rug invites us to pause in the forest and to consider where the world of the garden begins and where it might end.
