Framed views
Montreux, CH

A jewel on the shores of lake Geneva. Following the renovation of the characterful 19th century villa, a design was commissioned to restore its neglected garden to its former elegance. Respecting the listed heritage of the site, a new circulation and border layout was devised to emulate the original plans of 1875. The paths and planting beds were nevertheless sensitively adapted to integrate the numerous mature trees that had since grown across the site. The same towering trees and boundary plantings now provide the sumptuous ‘framed views’  which the original residents of the villa probably never had the good fortune to enjoy.
