Hedges don’t have to be grown in continuous lines. In this labyrinthine interpretation, a series of staggered and interlocking hedge segments provides enclosure and protection for a secluded terrace. The fragmented arrangement allows the landscape to be framed in interesting ways, in this instance opening windows onto cherry orchards, a church spire and grazed pasture.
